ACR Accreditation

In July 2008, MIPPA was approved by Congress and enacted into law. The bill requires that by January 1, 2012, all nonhospital suppliers of the technical component of advanced diagnostic imaging services, inclusive of Nuclear Medicine, MR, CT and PET, must obtain accreditation as a condition for reimbursement. At this time, the MIPPA requirements only apply to freestanding imaging facilities. Miami Digital Solutions utilizes highly qualified professionals including MS and PhD physicists experienced with the policies, procedures and requirements of ACR accreditation.  We guide you through the process to help ensure that your facility meets accreditation standards.

Worried About Missing the 2012 CMS Accreditation Deadline?
Providers of Advanced Diagnostic Imaging Services (ADIS) still have critical questions in advance of the Jan. 1, 2012 accreditation deadline. For example, what if you have not received ADIS accreditation but still want to apply? What if you are already accredited and you add a new imaging unit, open a new site, or start offering another imaging modality?

    •    If you apply for ACR accreditation in October, November or December of 2011, ACR will work with you to complete the accreditation process within 90 days of image submission.
    •    If your facility is accredited in one ADIS modality by Jan. 1, 2012, you have a 120-day grace period to gain accreditation for a new unit, location or modality – and receive CMS reimbursements.

Urgent Notice for Facilities Subject to MIPPA

The Jan. 1, 2012 MIPPA deadline for achieving accreditation is quickly approaching. We strongly recommend that you submit the required testing materials and images immediately.

We are committed to doing everything within our control to assist sites with the accreditation process. However, due to the limited amount of time remaining before Jan. 1, 2012, we cannot guarantee that your site will complete the accreditation process before the MIPPA deadline. Please review the testing instructions carefully. Double-check your images and application materials to ensure you include all of the required images and data. Failure to follow instructions or an incomplete application will delay your accreditation.
